Cost effective ways to Save Energy

 

Keep lights turned off when not needed. Don’t leave lights on when no one is in the room. If you are going to be out of the room for more than five minutes, turn off the light. Where possible, use compact fluorescent light bulbs. These produce amount of light by using 1/4 of the electricity. Also they are long lasting.

Don’t Leave Things turn on: Electronic gadgets that are not needed should be left turned off when not needed. This will prevent unnecessary wastage of electricity.

In the Bedroom: Turn off your appliances like computer, TVs, radios or games or even electric blanket on that use electricity when you’re not using them.

Don’t let heat escape from your house: Do you know that hot and cold air can easily escape from windows, heating vents?  Easy way to check it is take a ribbon and hold it up to the edges of the doors and windows. If the ribbon blows, you’ve found a leak! Get it fixed right away. In cold weather, keeping the curtains closed helps block the cold air from getting inside.

In the Kitchen: Don’t open the door of refrigerator unnecessary. It will keep the fridge cooler for longer.

Choose energy efficient appliances when making new purchases

Clean or replace filters on your furnace and air conditioner

Use the washing machine or dishwasher only when they are full

In the garden: Instead of electric or gasoline leaf blower, use a rake.

Food for thought: Life has bright side and a dark side, for the relativity is composed of light and shadow. If you permit your thoughts to dwell on evil, you yourself become ugly. Look only for good in everything so that you absorb the quality of beauty.
